Timothy's first REAL birthday party

During the weeks and months leading up to Timothy's 4th birthday, he let Phil and I know (often) of his plans for THE party. He spoke of the guests, the cake and the presents. How assertive and prophetic of him....

After some thought, we decided he was old enough to have some friends over to celebrate his special day. How nice it was that the kids he wanted to come over had parents that we wanted to come over :-)!!

He chose a Lego - Star Wars themed party. Here's my version of a Lego cake with Star Wars action figures on top.

Does it slightly resemble this picture I found on the Internet?

I finished it after he went to bed Saturday night and Daddy got the honor of revealing the surprise.

No Lego party would be complete without.......a mound of Legos. Thanks to Grandpa Larry and our good friends, the Henry's, we have the BEST collection of Legos (especially for only having one son!) The kids (and a few adults, ahem, Nick) had a great time building a variety of creations.
Savannah was being a party-pooper for part of the time, so Grammy indulged her with some hugs and cuddling.
Another cute baby was Zain, the youngest party attender, but he wanted to act like the big kids and drink out of a cup. He knew who to sweet-talk, because Brenda never says "no" to any baby. That's her not-so-secret weapon, and she has no plans on changing her spoilin' ways!! :-)
Timothy was just a bit excited for this Sword of the Spirit get-up. We figured if he is going to swing around a sword, it might as well represent the Word of God! It won't be much longer and he'll have Ephesians 6:10-19 memorized.
Cake time and playing fun games with Lynda Henry.
Jessi is anxiously awaiting for him to blow out all the candles. She's ready to eat some cake and has her eye on that red piece.
Timothy got several Lego sets and LOVED each one of them. Here he is proudly displaying the one he got in the mail from my sister and her kiddos. He sat with Phil for a couple hours meticulously following each step.
Another HUGE toy favorite was Nerf guns. But don't let the name fool you; these little bullets really sting when they make contact with skin! Phil found a perfect place for Timothy to target practice - down the hallway. The target? The light switch a the end of the hall.
Clean up time. All Legos and toddlers get put into bins at the end of the night.

A few days later while Phil and I were in San Francisco, Grammy quizzed him and made sure he knew each of the parts of the armor.
Two very proud and blessed parents! Happy birthday, little buddy. WE LOVE YOU!!
