Friday, March 12: Moab, UT and a trip to Arches National Park
Our hotels kept getting better (and cheaper) as the trip wore on. How does that happen? We had a very large room in Moab, UT. After enjoying a high carb. breakfast of waffles, and a short swim, we were ready for another day!
Phil joined the kids for a dip in this half-indoor/half-outdoor pool.
The kids were all so diligent in keeping up with their devotions in the morning. The girls all found nice quiet spaces to read Joshua and work in their journals.
Timothy doesn't want to be left out, so out comes his devotional booklet also. What a joy it is for me as a mom that this is an important part of their life. They have no idea how great of habit they are forming at a very early age. I wrote about this devotional series here. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
On our way to Arches National Park. The sign says, "Watch out for Bighorn Sheep crossing." Wouldn't that be cool to see?!
God's creation is breathtaking!
Another picnic lunch....from the cooler!! I figure we ate from the food we brought along at least 7 times. We did buy some fried chicken to add to this lunch. It was very convenient and a great way to save lots of money in restaurants.
A cowboy and his rock?
Monkey see, monkey do.
Little Miss Lindsay with a pretty smile this time.
Our first hike to some nearby arches.
Sarah thinks she is Sylvester Stallone in Rocky.... I know you have the tune in your head now!
Daddy with the wee ones.
And Mommy holding on tight to Savannah.
Timothy and Savannah thought they do a little sightseeing on their own.
She fell. Timothy helped her up and held her hand as they walked back to us. Makes my heart melt.
A picture of the Phil and the kids from where I was standing.
Hike, hike, hike, hike.....
Phil and 2 of the girls hiked back to this arch. It was so different than the others, but equally impressive.
Next Stop: Grand Junction, CO
Breathtaking!

This was a short 2 hour drive because 1) we had spent all day in Arches National Park and 2)Jodi wanted to visit her friend Honey on Saturday before heading back to Casper.
(Unfortunately, a couple members of Malloy family had a case of the flu so Honey and I decided that it was best to wait until this summer to see each other. )
