Arizona Vacation ~ Day 8

Saturday, March 13: The final leg of the trip. Grand Junction, CO to Casper, WY!

We all enjoyed superb muffins from a local muffin shop in our jammies/sweats and bedhead. Little did I know at the time, I missed Steve, Dane and Davis Malloy by less than an hour!

Timothy had a hard time deciding which kind he wanted. So he settled on the one I had picked out.

Timothy and Savannah make quite the duet.

As we left Grand Junction we drove through Palisade, CO where there are many vineyards and wineries. I talked Phil into stopping at one of them "just to look around." I figured it was impolite not to taste at least a couple of samples of wine and fudge....at 10 am!

Clever idea - a kids' play area to keep the tots occupied while the parents shop.

Wine barrels and fudge....and Tim.

Our LAST picnic lunch from the cooler in Craig, CO. There were slim pickins' but still plenty to fill us up.

Phil surprised the kids with an impromptu stop in Rawlins for some hot fudge sundaes. No, this is not normally something we would ever think of allowing in the vehicle, but considering the fact that EVERYTHING was getting scoured in a few hours, we figured let's go for it!

Timothy is always good for a laugh and when he said (after being asked to quiet down several times before stopping), "Ice cream will keep me quiet, Dad!"

Brilliant. After all, its not rocket science......

Enough said. And in case you were wondering, the taunting by her siblings made Savannah that much more annoyed.

Here are two HILARIOUS videos taken just minutes from arriving in Casper.

Thank you, Jesus that this only happened once, and it was only for 20 minutes!!

Final mileage: 2460.3 and Phil drove 100% of it!! Way to go, honey. You rock!

Just a portion of the incredible amount of dirty laundry we brought home with us.

The excitement of these new toys has not worn off. Timothy continues to taunt Savannah with his Darth Vader mask. Thanks again Tanner - you're the best. Timothy keeps talking about how he wants to send some toys to you now. Don't be surprised when you get an assorted box of treasures from Tim!!

Savannah poses in front of the MANY piles of clean and folded laundry. The piles are stacked two deep on the couch. I think it took 12 or 13 loads to complete it all, beginning on Saturday night finishing on Monday. But every piece of dirty clothing was worth it for the super family vacation we all enjoyed. WHEW!
