Finally puttin' on some weight

Savannah had her 6 month weight check and shots today (May 27). She was 6 months on the 15th, so she is actually closer to 6 1/2 months now. After having very little weight gain from 2 to 4 months, she has gained almost 3 pounds in the last 2 months. She now tips the scales at 13 pounds, 15 ounces. Looks like she is trying to catch up with her cousin Jason who was 14 pounds, 12 ounces.....at 4 months. They'll get to meet for the first time next Friday, June 6 in Ohio.

Don't you just love the head scarf???!!

Mother's Day and May Update

Here is a picture of a very proud and blessed mommy of her 5 very precious kiddos. Phil and the kids really out did themselves this Mother's Day. They brought home a dozen roses, several pictures, a planter and 3 trivets to match my living room pillows. I also received a delightful assortment of soaps from Bath and Body. We all went to church, and then they made chicken salad on croissants for lunch, AND they cleaned up the entire kitchen. They are making a shrimp and spinach fettuccine dish with roasted asparagus for dinner. Yummy! Phil is installing a new front door for me and since the weather is beautiful, I am going to relax in the sun for a while.

We are busy, busy, busy here. It seems May just started and it's almost half over. I was able to attend a mini retreat with the women's group of our church. The topic was on prayer and journaling and the weekend was a nice, relaxing getaway. The kids finish school on the 29th, but not before many actvities will take place. Allie has a field trip to Fort Laramie and a music concert. Sarah and Lindsay start soccer on Monday, May 12. Lindsay will participate in a Kindergarten celebration. The three big girls have a fun track and field day, planned for Wednesday, with nice weather and sunshine expected. We are gearing up for a big road trip on June 3-17. We will be celebrating Jodi's dad's 70th birthday in Ohio and seeing Phil's family in St. Louis and Chicago. Watch for upcoming posts.

Backyard fun

Here are some cute pictures of Timothy and Savannah enjoying some sunshine this week. As soon as I tried to get some pictures of Savannah sitting up in the chair, Timothy was right beside her trying to make her smile. In the last picture he is tickling her underneath her neck and she really was giggling.

Timothy paints his toes

The unavoidable influence of having three older sisters is beginning to manifest itself in everyday activites. We really are trying to teach Timothy that makeup, headbands and nail polish aren't for boys! He disappeared one day and I found him sitting on the floor in Lindsay and Sarah's room carefully painting his toes ---pink! Before I freaked out about him opening nail polish on the carpet, I realized it was lip gloss and it wiped off very easily. But I figured I'd get a couple of pictures in case I need some blackmail some day.

A nice shade of cotton candy frost.................

Dancing and Playing and Cooing

Here are some fun videos:

Timothy dancing, Allie playing her recorder, and Savannah "talking".

I think we need to teach Timothy how to get his feet off the floor.

The 4th graders at Allie's school had a recorder concert in May. Here is a little sample of 50+ 4th graders playing all at once. Allie also participated in a quartet as part of the concert. Bravo, Allie!!

Savannah is learning to use her voice. Hang in there for the first 25 seconds of the video, and then she gets going.

Candid Camera

The girls were in a silly mood one morning before school so instead of prodding them along like I usually have to, I turned on the video. They thought I was taking a picture and when I told them they were on candid camera, they froze momentarily, but jumped right back into their silly antics. Below is a still photo of their priceless expressions.

Sweet Savannah

April ~ Savannah all dressed up for church

Now that she is holding objects, she likes to take her pacifier out of her mouth, look at it, but then she can't quite figure out how to get it back in the same way.

It's Winter Again.....

Well...after posting glimpses of spring I should have known that chillier temps weren't far away. Three days later, we got hit with several inches of very wet, heavy snow. It only lasted a day and the bright sun and warm weather were back in less than 48 hours. Here are some winter and then some more spring pictures to enjoy.

Timothy enjoys making fresh tracks in the front yard.

A big smile and a wave from Savannah

Tis the season for homemade ice cream - mint chocolate chip, that is.
